We are delighted to talk to Mayor of Bristol and RIBA Honorary Fellow in the first of our People, Place, Planet series for 2021.

Our People, Place, Planet programme showcases the diverse people behind great placemaking, progressive climate action and innovation starting with this interview with Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees, recently awarded an RIBA Honorary Fellowship in recognition of overseeing a major housebuilding programme and increasing the percentage of affordable homes in the largest council house building scheme for over 35 years.

The fast-paced event will introduce Marvin’s journey to becoming Mayor, people and places that have inspired him, Bristol’s future in terms of ‘placemaking’ and the city’s place in the post-COVID UK.

Marvin was awarded an RIBA Honorary Fellowship for 2021.

As Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees founded a city owned housing company to develop and build homes. He has overseen a major housebuilding programme and increased the percentage of affordable homes.
