Thermal bypass risks - and solutions
Known as thermal bypass, air movement across, within, and behind insulation increases heat loss and carbon emissions, causes discomfort and enables mould growth. Poor design can lead to ten times more heat loss and U-value calculations suggest, but with the correct knowledge and skills, both in practice and onsite, failures in design and construction can be avoided and deliver buildings that perform as predicted.
By contextualising an understanding of thermal bypass, this new publication by the Passivhaus Trust provides a comprehensive and technical demonstration of how thermal bypass can be avoided.
At this month's sustainability mastermind, author Mark Siddall will give you a tour of the paper and address all your questions.
Get prepared, before the mastermind, download the paper about thermal bypass risks from the Passivhaus Trust website.
