For this supplementary meetup, Heather Jones, Head of 3C Building Consultancy will be talking to the group about the changes to the building regulations, announced by the government in December 2021. The changes will come into effect from 15 June 2022 in order to help the UK deliver net zero.
Heather joined 3C Building Control in 2017 and has extensive experience in leading shared services, particularly through transformation and change. Areas of expertise include building control, street naming and numbering, planning, land charges, housing and other consultancy services. Heather is a non-executive Director of the Board of LABC (Local Authority Building Control) and was elected as Vice-President in December 2019. Professional memberships include Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, CIOB and CABE.
Heather is an accredited LABC level 6 Fire Safety Specialist and an Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineering. Having previously sat on BRACW, a Welsh Government Advisory Committee for a period of four years, current roles include member of the CIC Diversity and Inclusion Panel and the CDBB Local Authority Digital Working Group.
Heather will be joined by Fred Hedges - Area Building Control Manager. Fred joined 3C Building Control in 2006 and previously worked as a builder with a bricklaying trade.
