The design and construction of this RIBA Regional award winning building has been driven by the constraints of this sensitive urban site and the live school environment.

Join us for an exclusive opportunity to hear more about this RIBA East Award winning building from the architect who designed it.

As part of this series of events showcasing 2018's Award winners, The Stephen Perse Foundation will host a talk and tour by Chadwick Dryer Clarke Studio.

"The design and construction of this RIBA Regional award winning building has been driven by the constraints of this sensitive urban site and the live school environment."

A basement sports hall and rooftop sports pitch, combined with flexible learning spaces and classrooms that link to existing adjacent buildings, make for a spatially complex building that is enabled by innovative structural and environmental design by Chadwick Dryer Clarke Studio. The context and character of the surrounding conservation area was a key issue, so ‘sinking’ the sports hall into a basement level whilst articulating the upper storeys aided the visual mass and scale of the building, supported with a careful composition of glazing and a rich palette of materials.

This event is part of our Great British Buildings series of talks and tours around the country.
