Join RIBA Gloucestershire and EH Smith Architectural Solutions for a limited numbers tour of Northcot Brick Factory in Gloucestershire. Watch as the master brick makers apply their trade to create traditional facing brick products.
About Northcot Brick
Blockley in Gloucestershire is the home of the Northcot Master Brickmakers. They have been quarrying clay and making bricks here for nearly 100 years. The richly-coloured bricks are made by Master Brickmakers who between them have hundreds of years of experience in the highly skilled art of brick-making. The bricks they make are used in all types of building projects all over the country.
Format
We are offering two tours starting different times. Each tour is limited to 6 people and is approximately 45 minutes.
Tour 1 will start from 9.15am with breakfast at Blockley Café (GL56 9BB) about 5 minutes drive from the Factory. The tour will start at 10am.
Tour 2 will start from 10.45am at the Factory. Afterwards, there is a chance for networking and lunch at the Great Western Arms, Blockley from 12pm.
PPE
You will need to bring steel toe-capped safety boots and a hi-vis jacket. Northcot have some hi-vis jackets though cannot guarantee spare safety boots so please bring your own. You will not be able to go on the tour without these two items.
