Please join us at Plymouth University Sustainability Hub, for a building tour of the CobBauge Building and the RIBA Plymouth Branch 2023 AGM.
During the AGM, there will be a vote held to elect new Branch Chairs and a review of the previous year's activities and accounts.
We will also look at forward planning for the rest of 2023 into 2024, with discussions on potential opportunities for upcoming events, activities and developments in the branch.
CobBauge Building tour
The CobBauge Building at the heart of the University of Plymouth campus is the first building in the country to be made from an upgraded version of cob material.
This single-storey structure enables researchers to assess the performance and capabilities of this walling material and can be used as an example to researchers and students, as well as others who may want to deploy it in the future.
The building completed in 2022 has earned the award for Best Commercial Sustainable Construction project at the Plymouth City Council Building Control LABC awards.
