RIBA West Midlands: Attingham Park sketch

Join us for a building tour, architectural summary and sketch activity at the National Trust's Attingham Park.

Attingham House inspires a sense of beauty, space and awe. The imposing entrance, glimpses of the vast mansion against silhouettes of cedars and expansive parkland, epitomise classical design and Italian influence. Its completeness of survival exemplifies the rise and decline, love and neglect of great country house estates.

Your day will start with a building tour of Attingham House followed by a talk from Sorrel from The National Trust. You will then be lead to the front outside of the building and given an easel and pencils to sketch the building. Lastly if you have finished and would like to share your work with other attendees, please meet at the café following the agenda below. Throughout the day the onsite café will be open if you wish to purchase food/drink.

Your ticket covers your entrance fee, building tour, architectural talk and your sketching materials (easel and pencils). Food and drink are not covered but a café is on site and can be accessed from entrance at 9am until 2:15pm. You will also have a safe space to leave your belongings. Unless you would like to stand, please bring your own chair e.g. camping chair.
