At a busy time for the city, the link between our profession and the local authority has never been more important. Join the RIBA West Midlands team for a Q&A with Andrew Fuller, City Design Manager who has been working with Birmingham City Council for eight years, exploring how the profession can work closer with the City Council and deliver a better outcome for design in the future of the city.
Andrew heads up a multi-disciplinary team within the Planning Department, comprising urban designers/architects, landscape officers, conservation officers, ecologists, tree officers and the digital/graphics technicians.
Involved in all master-planning projects, including the emerging Central Birmingham Framework and the adoption of the new City Design Guide (2022), Andrew works between strategy and development management and is now in the early stages of the pilot for the city’s Design Code.
The event will be hosted at X Brindley Place and we will provide an opportunity to have a tour of one of the latest additions to Birmingham. It's a building that has a focus on wellbeing and connectivity. We hope you’ll explore with interest the possibilities this presents for future tenants and the changing demand in the commercial market.
Lunch and soft refreshments will be provided.
With special thanks to Ibstock who are the sponsors of this event.
