Following on from our successful first event in September 2019, the RIBA Singapore Chapter is pleased to present its second talk under its Crossover Dialogues series, which explores architecture as a form of dialogue with other disciplines, cultures, and issues.

In this talk, Towards a Slow Architecture?, Shaumyika Sharma RIBA RAIA will discuss the idea of "slow architecture" in the context of slow fashion, experiments with materials and media, and non-traditional project structures - with equal regard for the architect, the artist and the artisan. Shaumyika will present a diverse portfolio of works from her "total art" practice, including a Handloom Weaving Centre in India and concrete sculptures in Australia.

This talk will be guest moderated by Yann Follain, Head of Design at WY-TO and former Festival Director of Archifest 2018.
