Special guests Thomas Miller (Haysom Ward Miller Architects) and Will Gamble (Will Gamble Architects) join us for this lunchtime talk – part of a series celebrating RIBA award-winning buildings.

Hosted by Chair of RIBA Awards Group Denise Bennetts (Bennetts Associates), the panel will be sharing the unique stories behind private homes Suffolk Cottage and The Parchment Works - followed by a live interactive Q&A session.

Suffolk Cottage by Haysom Ward Miller Architects - This architect’s family house was crafted with modest resources and a degree of self-build. It was in the top three domestic projects submitted for energy performance while addressing the RIBA 2025 benchmark both with predicted and actual energy use. Meeting exemplary sustainability standards, the project won a 2022 RIBA National Award and East Award.

The Parchment Works by Will Gamble Architects - a delightful extension to a grade II listed double-fronted Victorian house, the architect has combined the inventive re-use of existing structures with reclaimed and up-cycled materials to create an exemplar of conservation practice. It won a 2022 RIBA National Award, East Midlands Award, East Midlands Conservation Award and East midlands Small Project of the Year Award.
