On 20 April 2021, the RIBA and Geberit hosted an online seminar for members, non-members and students in the Gulf on the principles of acoustic design for acoustically-optimised buildings.

On 15 March 2021, RIBA Gulf Chapter launched its sustainability development series with a panel of experts offering insights into how global institutions are addressing the urgent issue of climate change as it relates to the built environment, and offered a regional route to achieve net zero carbon developments for practitioners across the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The second part of the RIBA Gulf Chapter sustainable development series focused on built projects in the Gulf that were designed with sustainability and low carbon as a major driving factor. The strategies deployed were presented by their designers, and the available data reviewed to determine ultimate performance.

On 24 February 2021, the RIBA and Geberit hosted an online seminar for members, non-members and students in the Gulf. The module provided delegates with an insight into the hydraulic principles of in-house drainage systems with a focus on high-rise buildings.

On 7 December, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the American University in Dubai (AUD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), held virtually.

As 2020 draws to a close, the RIBA Gulf Chapter is planning an exciting set of events for 2021 to further engage and connect the architectural community in the Gulf. These will be covering sustainability in the region, 3D printing, student workshops and building presentations.
